One More Casualty of the Drug War

Marcquis-Utley

The Athens Daily Review reported Marcquis Utley, of Athens, was sentenced to 14 years in prison for drug possession and misdemeanor resisting arrest.

Utley, 34, was convicted for the bulk of the sentence with possession of marijuana and six grams of cocaine. Other than resisting the unjust seizure of his rightful possessions, he wasn’t accused of using violence or doing harm to anyone’s property, but he could spend more than a decade behind bars to fund a welfare make-work program for police and the prison complex.
